We are discovering the Middle East for ourselves...
For the first time, the charitable project "We and World" initiated by The Kozytskyi Charity Foundation has organized an exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian art in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The exhibition takes place at the Ilkhom Theatre, a fitting venue as it was the first independent modern theater in the Soviet Union. It stands as a symbol of independence from totalitarian rule, censorship, and the suppression of free speech.
The concept of our art exhibition is encapsulated in the word "WE." This short two - letter word carries a profound dual meaning - representing us as a collective and us as a core capable of providing support and resistance. We embody the philosophical notion of existence, reflecting the complex realities of Ukrainian life and the everyday existence of its people.
The exhibition features 28 works by seven Ukrainian artists who continue to live and create in Ukraine: Pavlo Ponomarenko, Anton Logov, Roksolana Deynega, Ihor Nekrakh, Yana Hudzhan, Inna Kharchuk, and Vova Keno.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Uzbekistan for their support in organizing and facilitating the exhibition, particularly to Ambassador Mykola Petrovych Doroshenko.
The grand opening was attended by over 150 guests, including diplomatic corps and military attachés from 13 countries (Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Latvia, France, the Czech Republic, Romania, the United States, Italy, Poland, Azerbaijan, Germany, and Georgia), representatives from the OSCE, the First Deputy of the European Union, business leaders, gallerists, curators, and journalists.
