On December 4, 2024, a trilateral agreement was signed between the Kozytskyi Charity Foundation, UAV manufacturer Besomar, and the 39th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment as part of a long-term collaboration for Ukraine’s victory.
Under this agreement, the Kozytskyi Foundation will fully finance the production of 100 Besomar3210 UAV systems. These systems include fixed-wing drones, ground control stations, charging units, antenna sets, radio beacons, and other components necessary for effective operation. Additionally, operators from the air defense regiment will receive specialized training to use these UAVs efficiently.
The Besomar drones, developed in Lviv, are designed for reconnaissance, target re-verification, interception, and destruction of enemy UAVs, such as Orlan, Supercam, Zala, and Shahed models.
According to Stepan Kozytskyi, a representative of the foundation, the total cost of financing the production and training will amount to 13 million UAH. Training will take place at the Modern Training Center for UAV Operators. «We’ve ensured that as well», Kozytskyi emphasized.
The Besomar3210 is a reconnaissance-strike drone of the fixed-wing interceptor type. It can remain airborne for up to three hours, ascend to an altitude of 4 kilometers, reach speeds of up to 170 km/h, and has an operational range of 50-60 kilometers. Enemy drones are neutralized by detonating its onboard warhead, which has a 5-meter damage radius.
Besomar co-founder Roman Shemechko highlighted the drone's numerous advantages: robust construction, agility in performing complex maneuvers, smooth gliding, silent operation, and rapid acceleration and deceleration. "Our UAV reacts well to air currents, is highly maneuverable, and features an air brake system that allows operators to reduce speed from 120 km/h to 70 km/h in just two seconds," Shemechko explained. "It can glide long distances—for instance, from an altitude of 1 km, it can travel up to 10 km with the engine off. This makes it ideal for both reconnaissance and enemy UAV interception. A key advantage is its ability to charge in combat conditions thanks to mobile charging stations included in the package."
Captain Zenovii Komerzan, an officer from the 39th Air Defense Regiment, shared that two UAV batteries have already been established in the regiment. Personnel are being trained to operate the Besomar3210 systems. "We primarily work with old, worn-out anti-aircraft missile systems, which often break down. These drone systems represent cutting-edge technology, and we’re thrilled about receiving them. We promise to effectively eliminate enemy drones," Komerzan said.
Stepan Kozytskyi also noted that the foundation plans to expand its support. "We aim to increase funding next year for various programs and procure more high-tech, intelligent products to further assist Ukraine’s armed forces," he stated.
